APRIL 21 – MAY 28, 2021

Bernd Goeckler, is pleased to present ‘Yolande Batteau: Introspective’ — a survey of fine and decorative works by Yolande Milan Batteau, created over the last five years. Open: April 21st – May 28th. An internationally recognized, New York-based interdisciplinary artist who has honed her knowledge and physical mastery of hundreds of materials and methods over the last 30 years, Batteau draws inspiration from natural phenomena and anthropologies alike. In ‘Introspective’, Batteau presents a body of work from a series of material investigations involving the concept of a mirror, whether in verre eglomise, selenite or interventions on stones, perpetual self-observation and introspective study that is fundamental to her practice. Batteau is constantly exploring, discovering, and revitalizing contemporary and ancient processes and mediums, with a strong affinity for a wide range of cultures and their arts, including African, Asian and European.
